Scam Alert: We Are NOT Associated with Tumind.com

We’ve recently been receiving numerous emails and direct messages from people who have been charged £3 for what seems like an online purchase, often through Facebook, and then find more money taken from their account. These fraudulent transactions are connected to a company listed on bank or Visa statements as PYD*tumind.com, which unfortunately looks strikingly similar to our domain, tuminds.com.

To Clear Things Up

First and foremost, we are not associated with a company taking payments under the name Tumind.com and do not process any unauthorised payments from anyone’s account. We are Tuminds with an “s”, Tumind.com is a completely unrelated entity, and it appears to be involved in scams targeting individuals who have purchased low-cost items, often through Facebook ads, like a Dyson Hoover offer for £3, which has drawn many victims into this trap. The website tumind.com actually doesn’t exist.

When victims Google “tumind.com,” they often end up on our legitimate site (Tuminds Ltd), which adds to the confusion. We fully understand how frustrating and distressing this situation is and truly sympathise with anyone who has fallen victim to this scam. Thank you to the people who got in touch to make us aware that this was going on.

What You Should Do if Money Has Been Taken from Your Account

If you’ve noticed an unauthorised transaction on your account, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you take action:

  1. Contact Your Bank or Credit Card Provider Immediately
Notify them of the unauthorised transaction. They may be able to stop further payments and refund the money taken.
  2. Report the Transaction to Action Fraud (UK)
Visit the Action Fraud website to file a report on the scam. They will advise you on the next steps and ensure your report is logged for investigation. Please make it clear though that it’s not related to our business.
  3. Check Facebook and Other Platforms
If you purchased something via Facebook, be cautious of any further activity on the platform. You can also report the ad or the seller as a scam. Facebook provides steps to report fraudulent sellers here.
  4. Monitor Your Account
Keep a close eye on your bank statements for any other suspicious activity. You may want to consider setting up fraud alerts with your bank.
  5. Avoid Buying from Unverified Sellers
These scams are usually triggered by purchases from suspicious-looking advertisements or sellers, often offering items at unrealistically low prices. Be cautious and make sure to verify the legitimacy of sellers before making a purchase.

Why Are People Contacting Us?

Because “tumind.com” and “tuminds.com” look so similar, many people mistakenly assume we are responsible for these fraudulent transactions. We understand how upsetting this situation is, and we want to stress again that we are not connected to this scam in any way.

Protect Yourself and Others

We encourage everyone to be vigilant when shopping online. If you see deals that seem too good to be true, they probably are. Always check the legitimacy of the seller before making any purchases.
