Digital Tourist Presentation Strathpeffer
Last week we presented at the Digital Tourist Conference organised by Interface at the beautiful Strathpeffer Pavilion.
A very interesting day with some great speakers!
First up was Professor Aaron Quigley of the University of St Andrews who presented a brilliant presentation on the future of travelling which was absolutely awe-inspiring! Great presentation, well delivered and with some amazing statistics and insights on the future of travel.
We were up next after Prof. Aaron’s presentation which was a hard act to follow! Our presentation was about the current customer expectations. We featured the importance of having:
- an online booking facility
- free wifi
- an effective social media presence
for any tourism business in the Highlands of Scotland. We also mentioned and showed the latest SumUp app, making it possible for small businesses and sole traders to accept credit card payments.
There are other similar products like iZettle and PayPal and the Guardian recently featured both in an article on mobile credit card payments.
We also shared the unique and powerful example of how a hotel wowed a recent guest and how this exceptional hotel customer service example went viral via social media. See the Fairmont Hotel Pillow Fort story here, and the blog post created by the happy customer here.
A brilliant example of great customer service in the hotel industry!
